Careers at AurixFX

AurixFX is growing. We are looking for people who want to help businesses move money, manage currency exposure, and operate across borders with confidence — in roles broad enough to be worth doing properly.

Why AurixFX

Serious work, and the standards to match.

The work is consequential

Currency exposure is not an abstraction for the businesses we serve. It is the difference between a margin that holds and one that quietly disappears over a quarter. The people here work on problems where the client can measure whether we helped.

Roles are broad by design

Roles here are defined by scope rather than by layer. The person doing a job owns the whole of it — the decision, the execution, and the result — which means senior people spend their time on judgement rather than on handoffs.

Judgement over process

Foreign exchange is a regulated business and we hold ourselves to institutional standards on execution and compliance. Within that, we would rather someone think carefully about a client's situation than follow a script. We hire for judgement and then trust it.

Clients before volume

We compete on pricing that withstands scrutiny, execution that does not need chasing, and advice specific enough to act on. Nobody here is asked to sell something a client does not need, and saying so is treated as doing the job properly.

How we work

Engineering discipline, applied to currency risk.

Foreign exchange has been sold the same way for decades. We think the advantage now belongs to firms that treat pricing, exposure and settlement as engineering and data problems — and staff accordingly.

01

Systems before headcount

We would rather solve a problem once, properly, than absorb it indefinitely with people. Repeatable process gets automated so the team's time goes to the judgement calls that cannot be.

02

Decisions carry evidence

Pricing, execution quality, exposure and client outcomes are measured rather than assumed. Opinions are welcome here; they are expected to arrive with the numbers behind them.

03

Institutional controls, from the start

Regulated products demand documented process, clean records, and surveillance that withstands scrutiny. We build to that standard as we go rather than retrofitting it under pressure later.

04

Distributed, and written down

The team works remotely across Canada, so reasoning is written rather than absorbed in a room. Clear technical writing is treated as a core skill in every role, not a marketing one.

Who we look for

The standard we hire to.

We hire slowly and we hire senior. These are not preferences — they are the criteria a candidate is assessed against.

Demonstrated depth in your field

Either genuine domain expertise, or a documented record of acquiring it quickly and rigorously. Enthusiasm is not a substitute for either.

Fluency with data

You reach for the numbers before the anecdote, you can construct the analysis yourself, and you recognise when the data is wrong or insufficient to support the conclusion.

Comfort with modern tooling

You are impatient with manual process that ought to have been automated, and you have a track record of removing it rather than tolerating it.

Precision as a habit

In cross-border payments, errors of detail are measurable, attributable, and expensive. The standard is exactness, consistently, under time pressure.

The judgement to disagree

You will tell a client, or a colleague, that they are wrong — and you will bring the evidence that makes the case rather than the conviction.

Ownership to a conclusion

You take a problem all the way to a resolved outcome without being managed to it, and you escalate early when the outcome is at risk.
